This Juliet is Crying by Jillian Van Velsor

This Juliet is crying and no one sees her tears.

She sings a silent aria expressing all her fears.

Her body and her actions tell a tale of lies,

but there's a truth about her in her hungry emerald eyes.

She tells a picture book story of lovers who once were.

The pages unfold slowly, the pictures sweet and pure.

Children dancing in a field, flower filled and gay.

But her story will surely end, for the sky is turning gray.

Her Romeo is leaving for kingdoms far and wide.

He tells the sorry drama of their unfortunate goodbye.

His words, how they cut through her- like lightening in the sky

"My love for you, my precious, my love will never die."

And with those words he left her and with those words, she cried,

for she knew how much she needed him standing by her side.

But he will always be there, she learned this from his story,

the story on these pages, their everlasting glory.

His body and his actions may tell a tale of lies,

but with him the truth lies also, in his writing-not his eyes.

And as the pages unfold and the words are left in scripture,

his story of their love is perfect, painted picture.

Love Can Kill by Matthew Greenfield

The shadows peak over me as I look toward her photo.

My eyes begin to tear and my lids close.

I thought I loved her, yet now, I don’t know.

I try to think of a happier time,

But I can’t get it out of my head.

Devastation and red,

My future wife in his bed.

I feel pain and witness no sorrow.

My thoughts are only filled with disgust and fear.

And I guarantee you they will not see tomorrow.

Out of me flows a single tear.

I walk toward them with a gun.

The man you knew is no longer here.

Life by Sal Giarrizzo

Life is like a girl

So you better treat her right

She can bite you in the butt

Or make your money tight

She’s as pretty as a flower

But can change her mood in just one hour

As life changes so will she

She may leave you one day

And never be.
